What we collect

When you use Southclaw, we collect:

  • Account info — your email address, name, and your assistant's name
  • Telegram details — your Telegram username, used to connect you with your assistant
  • Conversations — messages between you and your assistant
  • Payment info — processed by Stripe; we don't store your card details
  • Usage data — token usage and basic analytics

Microsoft 365 data (optional)

If you choose to connect your Microsoft 365 account, Southclaw can access your email, calendar, and contacts so your assistant can help manage them. This is entirely optional — we only access what you authorise, and only to provide the service.

How we use your data

  • To provide and run the Southclaw service
  • To process your messages through AI models
  • To process payments
  • To send you important service updates

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not train AI models on your conversations.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on servers in the Sydney region, Australia, hosted on Fly.io. Conversations are stored in isolated, per-user containers.

Third parties

We use a small number of trusted third-party services:

  • Anthropic — processes your conversations using AI models
  • Stripe — handles payments securely
  • Telegram — delivers messages between you and your assistant
  • Microsoft — provides email, calendar, and contacts access (only if you connect M365)

Each of these services has their own privacy policies that apply to their processing of your data.

Data retention

Your conversations and account data are kept for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your data — including conversations, settings, and any connected service data — is deleted.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies — just session cookies for authentication. No tracking cookies, no third-party analytics cookies.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and data
  • Export your data (data portability)
